Welcome to the "Motor City Ballroom Dance Music Review" where you'll get an in-depth review of Detroit’s hottest urban ballroom dance music. Ballroom dancing has a rich history in the city of Detroit dating all the way back to before the Motown era. While other dance crazes come and go, Detroit club style ballroom dancing, or "Ball Rooming" as it is affectionately known, has stood the test of time.
One of the reasons ball rooming has endured decade after decade is because of the "Magic In The Music". The "MotorCity Ballroom Dance Music Review", will explore some of that music complements of the "MotorCity Ballroom Dance Competition", which took place at the Masonic Temple's Crystal Ballroom in the heart of Detroit around the turn of the millennium.
The event was put on by special events group MotorCity Productions 1st Class Entertainment, of which, Van Allen served as Video Production Coordinator, while Hattie Johnson served as Event & Charity Organizer, Mary Canty provided Special Promotions. The Black Tie event not only featured the hottest dance music of the era, it showcased the Motor City's finest ballroom dancers.
